This is a great property to explore. You are in a location that makes you feel as if there is no one else around. Exploring the creek bed was fun for all. We did not make it to the falls but from the videos I have seen it is one more thing to enjoy. The trail to the falls is a bit overgrown with various plants and poison ivy so dress accordingly. We enjoyed our time at this property.

What a wonderful cabin! Our family decided to take to the woods and mountains this year for vacation and we had an awesome time here. Birds, Luna moths, mist in the trees every morning, hot coffee enjoyed each morning in the rockers. We hiked to Abrams Falls ( a must see ) and enjoyed true southern hospitality. Fishing and swimming in the creek was relaxing, we caught crawfish and we even saw a baby elk!! Owner is a pleasure, quick responses to any Q's we had, cabin was very clean, and had everything we needed. We definitely will be back!

This was our second visit to the cabin. What a lovely, peaceful place to stay.
Everything in the cabin is designed for comfort. We loved the rocking chairs on the front porch, and the berries off the back deck. The beds are very comfortable. The security system made us feel protected. This property is exceedingly well maintained.

We had such a relaxing week here! There was plenty of space for 5 adults and 5 kids. We loved sitting on the porch in the mornings and enjoying a cup of coffee. We stopped at the Kroger to get everything we needed for the week. The cabin was just close enough to town and far enough to feel secluded. The kids enjoyed playing in the creek. We also attempted the hike to the falls. Definitely for the able bodied. Its not for inexperienced individuals. Overall a wonderful experience for my family. We would definitely like to come back.

Winter Wonderland!

Jennifer R. - Tampa, FL

We stayed at the cabin while visiting Kingsport to celebrate my parent's 50th anniversary and our Grandmother's 94th birthday. Our first night it snowed heavily and we woke up to a high temperature of 28 degrees - that night it got down to 12 degrees! The road and drive up to the cabin were a challenge. Thank goodness I had my 4 wheel drive Jeep Renegade. The other guests had to park at the bottom of the drive and walk up due to the ice and snow. The main house was quiet comfortable but the basement room was a challenge to warm up - again, it got down to 12 degrees.
Over all, it was a very nice place to stay. As Floridians, my husband and I loved the snow. It was amazing! We could have used a little more hot water - had to space our showers. Just make sure you know that the upstairs does not connect to the downstairs room from inside the house. I would recommend this property to those who have 4x4 capabilities.

Owner's Response: Yes, during the showy and icy conditions in the Winter, having a 4x4 or chains will help to drive all way up to the cabin. Sorry, we didn't post clear instructions to turn on the backup wall heater in the downstairs bedroom. We will have that information clearly posted for our next guests. Thank you for being our guests..!

My sister and I truly enjoyed our time at the cabin.
One of my granddaughters looked at a photo we took on the porch. She exclaimed, "It's like being in a treehouse." It is a secluded spot - if you are looking for privacy, this is it! Relaxing Vacation

My family stayed at the cabin for 9 nights. We went to this cabin in the mountains for a quiet relaxing vacation. There were still things to do in the area when we wanted, but it was quiet when we wanted. Things to doing include hiking, visiting downtown business, shopping, caverns, dam, etc. The cabin was clean and neat. It seemed like it was well taken care of and we enjoyed our stay. The only issue we had was the driveway, which was difficult to get up because it is steep and the gravel was not packed and you couldn't get the best running start up the driveway unless you had someone willing to close the gate (which is manual) behind you and walk up the driveway. My daughter did that most of the time. We found by putting our minivan in Drive 1(1st gear) and turning off the traction control we were able to get up a little easier, but stone still threw you around a bit and the one side has a drop.

The cabin was very nice, Clean and comfortable. It was well equipped with everything a family would need. The rushing creek below can be heard from the cabin and is very therapeutic. We were concerned about the gravel driveway we would need to navigate to the cabin. But, found this to be easily tackled by driving slow and there was no problem at all. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this cabin to family and friends.

We came to the area for a college graduation. I opted for a home instead of hotel rooms and I'm glad we did. We were able to spend time together...even when my small kiddos napped. The front porch and rocking chairs is the best part! And the creek at the bottom of the hill was a family favorite. The only frustrating part is the driveway. Several of us got stuck multiple times and the hairpin turn at the top is scary. If the driveway was better, I wouldn't hesitate to come back again. The space really is perfect and peaceful. Overall a great stay!

Such a great property and the surrounding area. We had such a great family trip. The cabin is in perfect condition. The location is not to far from town with easy access into Bristol. The weather was not great while we were there so we spent a significant amount of time in the cabin, and it was perfect. One recommendation is ensuring that you have a front wheel drive car or one that has four wheel drive:)

Utilized this Cabin for a small youth retreat. We had a great time. The cabin is beautiful and comfortable, had all the amenities we could ask for. The only reason for "4 star" is the driveway, being paved and steep was a bit tricky on the very rainy day we arrived. We made it up, but was more difficult than we would have like, especially with a car load of youth and food for the weekend. Youth were just happy they didn't have carry items up the hill.
Overall, good weekend, and a great place to stay that is tucked away in the mountains, yet close and convenient to activities and restaurants.

A beautiful cabin, located on a huge property is super secluded and surrounded with serene surroundings and sounds nestled within the trees. Excellent location and a great cabin! Had a super great time!!
Gravel Driveway to the cabin is challenging at first, Just what you'd expect in a rustic mountain cabin. This was our first mountain getaway, and it was a perfect choice.
There were cable TV and high-speed wireless internet (which given the location was a hugely pleasant surprise.)
If you want to spend your gateway in a secluded, rustic, yet comfy cabin, look no further than Abrams Falls Cabin!

Pros: The cabin was very clean and spacious. There were also plenty of restaurants, grocery stores, and attractions close by. Cons: The property was overgrown and the water falls were not very accessible. Older people and younger children will have difficulty hiking the trail. The driveway/trail was also very rough. We have an SUV so it was not a problem, but if you are travelling in a car you might have some difficulty driving up to the cabin. Especially if there has been a lot of rain or snow. Also, we were there at Christmas time and there were no Christmas decorations. That would have been a nice touch. Overall the cabin lacked a "homey" feel to it and I would not recommend this place to friends or family.

The cabin is absolutely beautiful, and the surrounding area is pretty between seasons later in the year. Everything was comfortable and clean when we arrived.
There's an overly extensive security system in place for your own protection. We'd thought it odd being so far out and mostly hidden from society to have a need for such a network.
On our second to last night there, at 2:30am, we found out why the system is as elaborate as it is. The drunk neighbor showed up in the driveway dressed head to toe in military style gear brandishing an assault rifle with multiple side arms accusing us of making his dogs bark, mind you, we never ventured more then 50ft from the cabin. We had to contact the authorities and have him removed and they assured us "he's really a good guy".
Overall though I did enjoy my stay, and would likely rent again possibly during a warmer season to really enjoy the morest outdoor side of things.

Owner's Response: It is very strange; this incident was never informed to us until I noticed it on this review. I checked the camera recordings, and there was no event like that ever recorded. When I checked with the Washington County Law Enforcement, they couldn't locate any incident record of receiving a call or dispatch record. The nearest house is at least quarter mile away, and it is currently unoccupied. The Cabin is secluded and very safe, so far we never had any issues.
We had a wonderful weekend at the Abrams Falls cabin.

We were very pleased with our stay here. Our boys loved the house and playing in the stream located at the end of the driveway. We were a little disapointed when a neighbor told us he wouldn't take the kids on the hike to Abrams Falls. They had been really excited about it, but we aired on the side of caution and didn't go. There ages are 3, 5, and 8. Maybe we will go back when they are a little older. I would highly recommend this house to anyone!

My family of 3 and friends of ours which were a family of 4 shared this delightful spacious cabin. This cabin is gorgeous! It's perched up on a hill with tranquil views. As you step outside all you can hear is a flowing stream which gave a zen ambiance. This was our 2nd time here and it will definitely not be our last. This cabin is clean, well furnished, with top of the line appliances. Our favorite feature was the hiking trail to the falls. It's within walking distance of the cabin and was not to difficult for kids to do with you. My daughter is 10 and she had no problem with the hike. This is by far our favorite vacation spot. Our family had the a wonderful time at this cabin. It is immaculate, modern and exceptionally maintained. The owner is very responsive to any question. My little one enjoyed nature hiking and playing outside with the kids that were with us. The creek is right at the bottom of the hill and the sound of the flowing water is very relaxing and soothing. We did a lot of sight seeing and enjoyed our stay so much we did not want to leave. Very close to the Bristol Caverns which we were all fascinated by (my son said it was the best cave adventure ever!). We also visited Great Smokey Mountains National Park, Cherokee, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. A friend and I spent several nights here as a "girls getaway", and found the property to be cozy, attractively appointed, comfortable, and clean. We loved how private it was, with gorgeous views--truly a little slice of paradise!
We loved that the cabin is secluded, yet still close enough to town for groceries, restaurants and shops. But the best thing was the creek. I spent hours on the spacious deck reading and enjoying the soothing sight and sound of the creek, which can also be heard inside the cabin when the windows are open. I don't fish, but I can sure see how someone who does would find this place perfect. Us non-fishers can enjoy the plentiful hiking nearby, the wildlife sightings, the views, and the fresh mountain air. I can't wait to return with my husband and kids! Our family including three grandchildren ages 4, 14 and 18 spent three days of Thanksgiving week at this beautiful cabin in the Virginia/Tennessee Mountains. The cabin is literally in the side of a mountain with an extended porch overlooking a river below; the view was gorgeous, but the driveway up to the cabin was difficult to manuever especially with an extremely sharp turn on the way up; two cars had four wheel drive and one did not. The cabin itself had many nice features including a well-stocked, fully-equipped kitchen which we used quite a lot. The bathrooms were nice, but in the Master bedroom there was no closet available; something to hang clothes on would have been helpful. The property was very well-maintained and clean and a nice welcome gift basket was there upon arrival. We communicated frequently with the owner prior to rental and he was very helpful and responsive to our questions. A sofa bed in the living area would have been helpful. There are many things to do in the area, but this visit we were there primarily to visit our grandaughter who goes to college nearby. There are many outdoor activites available and many music venues on the "Crooked Road". We all enjoyed our winter retreat and even had snow falling and on the ground while we were there. It would be a great propery to visit in the summer and you could take advantage of the rocking chairs on the porch and relax in the river below.

What a beautiful place. If you want to go somewhere secluded, this is the place. Everything was perfect, even down to the babbling brook. Imagine sitting among the trees, rocking in a chair with a hot beverage and listening to the sound of the creek....nothing else. If is this what you want, this is what you will get. The men played golf for two days and had a great time. We headed into Abingdon and spent several hours there, then headed to historic downtown Bristol. What a pleasure. Make sure to visit the Blackbird Bakery...this was a great find. The best coffee we ever had. The owner were terrific too. We are planning on returning when the weather is a little warmer and there is more outdoor activities available.

We were a group of 4 ladies that spent a week at this beautiful retreat in the Appalachian Mountains. It was our first trip to the area, and we weren't sure what to expect. From the moment we stepped through the door we felt right at home. The villa was very cozy and immaculate. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we could possibly need and more. As noted on the reviews, we were prepared to park our car at the entrance and walk the 100 Yards to the cabin. Because we ware not experienced mountain drivers. But I am glad to report, our little Toyota made it all the way to the cabin. We drove up & down many times and the driveway was not an issue for us at all. We spent hours on the rocking chairs in the covered porch talking, drinking wine and enjoying the magnificent views. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us!

Although we settled on this cabin in Bristol due its location as a midway point, there was nothing about our stay that caused us to feel we had settled! We found the cabin to be exactly as it was described, containing luxury features inside and rustic, natural settings outside. The running brook emitted a calming sound and invited exactly the mood we desired to reconnect with family members as we sat on the rockers or walked together along the trails. Indeed we were secluded and immersed in nature but we felt pampered and safe. To our surprise, our cell phones could not pick up a signal but this only added to our ability to interact with each other. The property was very well maintained and clean. Our first impression was positive and as we left we continued to express our delight at having found such a jewel. We are planning a return trip in the summer months! The owners had anticipated our every need.

After reviewing numerous vacation spots in area we decided on Abrams Falls Cabin because of how it looked. When we arrived we were not disappointed one bit. The place is outstanding!!!
The cabin was very clean and organized, immaculate, spacious, and very well-appointed!
We had a great time at this mountain retreat. A great place to relax and unwind, especially if you're escaping from city life.
Our children loved this place, Hiking on the private trail and cycling along the Abrams Falls Creek.
I am in awe of the Beauty and Serenity of your wonderful home. I took a few hundred pictures. I wish we had more time to spend. I hope to return one day!

We had a great time at the Abrams Falls Cabin. The place was super clean with comfortable beds and linen. Location is secluded yet minutes from the city. The cabin is new with all the latest appliances. For me, Abrams Falls cabin is better than any 5-star hotel and well worth the money paid for. Only regret was not being able to stay longer!

The Abram Falls cabin is a super place to stay, located only 15 minutes from the centre of Bristol with easy access to/from Interstate 81. The property is very well presented with excellent modern facilities. We are a family of four and we very much enjoyed the secluded location. The veranda was an excellent place for an early morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. We found an in car SatNAv useful to find the property.

A Fabulous Cabin, a rear Gem. It felt like home so relaxing and everything you need to enjoy. whenever we come up to visit this would be the only place I would want to stay. Great place for a family reunion or just want a quiet place to vacation with the sound of the river off the bedrooms with no other houses nearby. Exceeded all our expectations. We were presently surprised to see a complimentary basket with a bottle of vine, bottle water, soda cans, popcorn and coffee with a welcome letter waiting for us. Comfortable beds with pillow top mattress, fans in all the rooms and a wonderful wrap around porch with rocking chairs and tables with chairs for a wonderful outdoor meal. Can't wait for our next visit to see the fall colors.

A truely lovely home in the mountains with all the comforts of home. We really enjoyed our time there with sounds of the water stream and the walks through the peaceful wooded trails.
We hope that it is available the next time we have a chance for a secluded get away!
